About the Journal

Abstracting & Indexing

Current indexing status of The Practical Medicine, including planned database applications and our commitment to open-access discoverability.

Current Status

The Practical Medicine was established in 2026 and is currently in its founding year of publication. As a newly launched journal, we do not yet hold ISSN registration or inclusion in bibliographic databases. We are committed to full transparency regarding our status and will update this page as each milestone is reached.

We are building the publication record required to meet the eligibility criteria of major indexing bodies, and we intend to pursue formal applications as those thresholds are met.

ISSN

The journal's ISSN has not yet been registered. ISSN registration will be completed and listed here as soon as it is obtained. Authors requiring an ISSN for submission records or institutional reporting should contact weopenaccess@gmail.com.

Why Indexing Matters

Inclusion in major bibliographic databases substantially increases the discoverability and reach of published research. Indexed articles are:

  • Searchable by clinicians and researchers worldwide through standard literature databases
  • Eligible for citation tracking and impact factor calculation
  • More readily identified by systematic review authors conducting comprehensive literature searches
  • Recognised by most academic institutions for promotion and tenure evaluation

Our editorial standards, peer review process, and publication ethics policies are designed from the outset to meet the requirements of major indexing bodies. Indexing is a core strategic priority for the journal.
